In association with the Energy Policy Institute of Australia, UQ Energy Initiative is organinsing an industry engagement presentation "The Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2017" on 26 October, followed by cocktail refreshments and networking. It is part of the "Energy Exchange Series Events" by UQ Energy Initiative.
Keynote speaker is Mr Ali Al-Saffar who is Energy Analyst, Directorate of Global Energy Economics, at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris. Ali's visit follows the successful Energy Exchange presentation in February by the IEA Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol.
The topic of Ali's presentation "The Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2017" is a World Energy Outlook Special Report, and Ali is the lead author of this report due for publication in October. His speech will be followed by a panel discussion and a question/answer session.
Ali is an energy analyst in the Directorate of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks at the IEA and author of six editions of the IEA’s long-term forecast, the World Energy Outlook. Prior to joining the IEA in 2012, Ali was a country economist and chief automotive analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit in London. He holds degrees in economics and development studies.
The presentation takes place onThursday 26 October 2017, from 6.00-8.00 pm, at The River Room, Customs House, 399 Queen Street, Brisbane, 4000. Admission is $50 per person (seating will be arranged in theatre style).
