The Gas and Energy Transition Research Centre is funded through a membership model for a five-year term.

Current members are Arrow Energy, Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG), Santos and The University of Queensland. In addition, there is scope for other stakeholders to provide direct support for an area of research that they believe should be undertaken at the Centre.

In line with other UQ research centres, Gas and Energy Transition Research Centre researchers are encouraged to apply for additional funding, including through competitive grant rounds. The UQ CNG has a successful track record in attracting significant international and domestic competitive funding, including through the Australian Research Council Linkage Program, the Queensland Government’s Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowships and through National Energy Resources Australia.
