The University of Queensland Centre for Coal Seam Gas (UQ-CCSG) congratulates UQ researcher Dr Christopher Leonardi who was recently awarded a prestigious mid-career Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowship.
The new UQ built Well Simulator Facility was launched when the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) cut the red ribbon to officially declare its inaugural start.
At the 9th EAIT Postgraduate Conference of UQ, the Director of the Centre for Coal Seam Gas, Professor Andrew Garnett, presented CCSG "best in the field of unconventional gas resources" award to Phd student Ms Gloria Monsalve Bravo.
The Australian Research Council (ARC) has awarded $165,000 for the UQ research project "Mitigation of silica nanoparticle scaling in water treatment" under the "Linkage projects" scheme.
Canadian Foundation CMG (FCMG) has awarded UQ's Centre for Coal Seam Gas (CCSG) the inaugural Industrial Research Chair in Onshore Gas Reservoir Modelling. UQ Professor Suzanne Hurter holds the new chair.
New funding will enable development of improved methods for cost-effective bentonite plugging and abandonment technology to plug old coal exploration bores and water wells with deteriorated or non-existing casing.
