UQ at peak gas and oil APPEA Conference in Brisbane in May
The University of Queensland was represented at the APPEA Conference held in Brisbane in late May.
UQ’s Centre for Coal Seam Gas had a stand at the event and reported strong interest from attendees in UQ’s portfolio of research into natural gas.
A raft of additional collaborative opportunities were forged throughout the event.
The Director of the Centre for Coal Seam Gas, Professor Andrew Garnett, was invited to Chair a successful session on ‘Fracking the way to fresher findings’.

UQ's Dr Mahshid Firouzi spent much time talking to attendees about the novel transparent well located at UQ's St Lucia campus. She subsequently scheduled several lab visits so interested parties could see the technology working first hand
