New UQ research on CSG facts in Queensland Country Life

29 June 2017

Researchers at UQ's Centre for Coal Seam Gas and Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining have been studying social and economic changes in Queensland communities most affected by CSG development.

Yesterday, the Queensland Country Life published an online article focusing on the main results of the latest annual report (2016) on Queensland's Gasfields' Communities. These results were recently presented by Dr Katherine Witt at a business leaders’ breakfast in Roma hosted by the GasFields Commission.

The findings are based on various data over a period of 15 years and are subsequently shared with the local communities to allow people to explain the observed changes compared to their own experiences.
