Professor Ray Johnson is a recognised lead expert in hydraulic stimulation for Australian unconventional gas and is leading several important projects across well engineering, production technology and reservoir simulation at The University of Queensland Gas and Energy Transition Research Centre.

He has more than 35 years' of experience in the oil and gas sector, including extensive experience in the execution and evaluation of reservoir stimulation treatments undertaken in North America and Australia (CSG, tight gas sands and shale gas resources).

Ray was appointed as the Chair for Well Engineering and Production Technology with the Centre in 2017.
